Tucson, AZ -- (Sports Network) - Shavar Richardson scored 17 points off the bench to lead the Florida Atlantic Owls to a 65-61 victory over the Santa Clara Broncos in West Regional action of the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament at the McKale Center.

Carderro Nwoji tallied 12 points and dished out six assists in the FAU (2-1) win, while Paul Graham III chipped in 10 points.

John Bryant posted a game-high 25 points and collected seven rebounds to lead Santa Clara (1-2), while James Rahon added 13 points in the losing effort.

Santa Clara was limited to just 40.0 percent from the floor during the first period of play, enabling the Owls to take a slim 32-30 lead into the break.

FAU shot at a blistering 57.1 percent clip during the second frame en route to the four-point victory.

The Broncos converted a mere 4-of-18 from beyond the arc in the loss.
