PG&E Safety Net Program

Under the Safety Net program, Pacific Gas and Electric will provide payments to residential customers when it is determined they are without power for more than 48 hours because of a severe storm.The payments will range from $25 up to $100, depending on the length of the outage.The utility says this payment is a good-faith effort to acknowledge the inconvenience extended outages place on residential customers in those rare instances when service cannot be restored quickly.
PG&E also offers a special outage hotline at 1-888-743-4743 or 1-888-PGE-4PGE, which allows customers to speak to someone about a particular outage.More Resources:
